How to generate the Tool path in the incremental sheet forming process using the Matlab and Abaqus

In this tutorial, we intend to teach you how to generate the Tool path in the incremental sheet forming process using the Matlab and Abaqus software . Actually we intend to define the moving of the Tool path using Matlab software

This training includes two sections and in the first section the incremental sheet forming will be done for the 120 degree Cone and in the second section the incremental sheet forming will be accomplished for the 80 degree Cone

The Tool moves in a spiral path that causes the sheet to be formed gradually and you can observe this spiral path in this picture

The Tool moves in a conical path , so we use Matlab software in order to define moving of the Tool path (spiral path)

you should do the following 6 steps in order to define the moving of the Tool path using Matlab software

Step-1

In the Step 1 , you should define Time period using Matlab software

In this example , time period is equal to 800 seconds and you can observe the instruction of writing down codes in this picture

Step-2

In the Step 2 , you should export the data from Matlab software to the Excel software , the instruction of which has been written down here

Step-3

In Step 3 , you should determine the Line Slope using Matlab software

You need Matlab software, Excel software and Abaqus software to do this project

The sheet is made of aluminum with a length and width of 320 mm and the thickness of 2 mm
