In this example we intend to simulate the hysteresis analysis of the steel plate shear wall in the Abaqus software

In this example, a cyclic loading is applied to the top part of the shear wall, and then the hysteresis diagram of the shear wall will be drawn

This problem consists of two parts: 1- buckling analysis 2- hysteresis analysis

First, buckling analysis is performed and buckling modes are extracted. Then, the initial imperfection is defined using buckling modes

As you observe in this picture, the shear wall is composed of two columns, one plate, one beam and a few stiffeners

In this picture, the hysteresis diagram gained from the Abaqus software has been compared with the experimental results

As it can be clearly observed, the results obtained from the Abaqus software are quite the same as those mentioned in the article and they are extremely precise
