One-Dimensional Consolidation Analysis Assuming Elastoplastic Behavior of Soil Abaqus

This example been chosen from Example 4.2 Sam Helwany book

In this example , we simulate one-Dimensional Consolidation a saturated soil layer

The geometric shape of soil has been considered a cylindrical form with a diameter of 20 cm and height of 10 cm

This problem is done in three steps , In first step the seating pressure of 9.19 kPa is applied at the top surface of soil

In step 2, a sudden 20-kPa pressure is applied to top surface of soil

The step 3 is the consolidation step with a time period of 100000 seconds

In consolidation step , the top and bottom surfaces of the soil are permeable and the possibility of drainage from these surfaces will be provided

The soil has a constant permeability k = 6e-9 m/s, and initial void ratio e0 = 1.5

Assume that the soil is elastoplastic, obeying the extended Cam clay model
