Calculating deflection of beam under triangular line load using strength of materials and Abaqus

In this question, we intend to calculate the maximum deflection of the beam using the Strength of Materials and Abaqus software and compare the results obtained from the Abaqus software with those of the Strength of Materials subsequently

In this question, a triangular line load is applied to the beam and we intend to calculate the deflection caused as a result of this line load

The length of the beam is 1 m and the cross-section of the beam is one square with a side equal to 0.02 m

In this training video, we solve this problem once using the Abaqus software and once the problem is solved benefitting from the Strength of Materials and the results of both are compared together subsequently

In the diagram below, the deflection of beam is calculated using Abaqus software

As you observe, the results obtained from the Abaqus software are quite equal to those having been gained in the Strength of materials
