Simulation single point incremental forming (SPIF) truncated pyramid Abaqus
In this example , we simulate incremental sheet forming or single point incremental forming (SPIF) in the abaqus software
The sheet is made of aluminium with a length 400 mm and width of 200 mm and thickness 1.5 mm

The coefficient of friction between the sheet and the tool is taken to be 0.1
The tool spin about Z axial with constant angular velocity
The tool take a rectangular path in the X-Y plane and causes the sheet to be deformed

The tool is modeled with three-dimensional discrete rigid surfaces and The plate is made of aluminum
In single point incremental forming process, a hemispherical punch incrementally forms the sheet toward a desired geometry by a proper trajectory on the sheet itself
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) allows the manufacturing of complex products avoiding the use of rigid and dedicated clamping system, therefore process costs and times are reduced

The final shape of the sheet is a truncated pyramid and you can observe that in the picture
