Project Overview

This tutorial focuses on drawing the Shear Force Diagram and Bending Moment Diagram of a beam using the Abaqus software and the Analytical Solution.

First, the Shear Force and Bending Moment diagrams are obtained using the Analytical Solution. These diagrams are then obtained using the Abaqus software. Finally, the results obtained from Abaqus are compared with those obtained from the Analytical Solution.

Problem Description

In this example, a beam is analyzed to determine the Shear Force and Bending Moment along the beam.

The main objective of this tutorial is to demonstrate how the Shear Force Diagram and Bending Moment Diagram can be obtained using Abaqus and then verified using the Analytical Solution.

Analytical Solution

First, the Shear Force Diagram and Bending Moment Diagram are obtained using the Analytical Solution.

These analytical results are used as a reference for evaluating the results obtained from the Abaqus simulation.

Abaqus Simulation

After obtaining the analytical results, the beam is modeled in the Abaqus software. The analysis is performed and the Shear Force and Bending Moment are obtained from the Abaqus results.

Comparison of Results

Finally, the Shear Force Diagram and Bending Moment Diagram obtained from the Abaqus software are compared with the corresponding diagrams obtained from the Analytical Solution.

In the comparison results, the diagrams obtained from the Analytical Solution are shown in red, while those obtained from the Abaqus software are shown in blue.

As observed, the results obtained from the Abaqus software are precisely concordant with those obtained from the Analytical Solution.
