In this example we intend to simulate testing of seismic damper with replaceable U-shaped steel plates in the Abaqus software
As you observe in the picture , the model is composed of U shaped steel plate , Casing element , Channel , Bolt , Diaphragm and Piston

In the left picture, the laboratory model and in the right picture, the sample having been simulated in the Abaqus software can be observed
In this question, a cyclic loading is applied to the model and then it’s hysteresis diagram will be drawn
In this picture, the hysteresis diagram gained from the Abaqus software has been compared with the experimental results
In this picture, you can observe the deformation of the model under the cyclic loading
