**Calculation of the strain energy of the Truss using Abaqus software and Analytical Solution**

**In this example, we intend to calculate the strain energy of the Truss using the Abaqus software and Analytical Solution and then compare the results obtained from both Abaqus software and Analytical Solution together**

**Analytical Solution**

**First we should calculate the Forces applied to member BC and CD. Then we write the equilibrium of force directed at Y axis and by doing so, we will be able to calculate F(bc) and that is equal to 51000 Pounds. In the next step, we will write the equilibrium of force directed at X axis and by doing we will be able to calculate the force of F(cd) and that is equal to 25000 Pounds**

**Following that, we should calculate the Strain Energy of the whole truss. To do so, we’ll only need to calculate the strain energy of each member of the truss and then add them all up together. In this manner, the strain energy of the whole truss will be gained**

**Strain energy obtained from the Analytical Solution is equal to 1767.17 **

**Strain energy obtained from the Abaqus software is equal to 1767.18**

**As you observe, the results obtained from the Abaqus software are precisely concordant with those of the Analytical Solution **
