Delamination of two composite layers using VCCT method in Abaqus

In this example we intend to simulate delamination of two composite layers using VCCT method in the Abaqus software

Actually, we intend to verify article of  “Mode II interlaminar fracture of Glass/Epoxy multidirectional laminates” in the Abaqus software and compare the results gained from abaqus with those obtained from the article

The question describes that two composite plates have been affixed together using paste and are to undergo a three-point bending

Each composite plate is composed of 20 layers, the thickness of each layer is 0.15 mm, and with a total length of 160 mm and width of 20 mm. The length of the crack is 25 mm

In this question, VCCT method or the same, ‘’ Virtual Crack Closure Technique ‘’ , has been utilized in order to simulate delamination of the composite plates

The composite plate is made of Glass/Epoxy

This project has been validated, which means that the results obtained from Abaqus software are similar to the results of the article. In other words, this project is based on the article
