S-Shaped Steel Plate Damper under cyclic loading Abaqus
In this example, we intend to simulate S-Shaped Steel Plate Damper under cyclic loading in the Abaqus software. Actually, this damper is a Metallic Structural Fuse.
In the right picture, you can see the laboratory sample, and in the left picture, the Model having been simulated in the Abaqus software can be observed.
As you observe, the laboratory sample includes two dampers, one in top and one in the bottom of the Model and the cyclic loading is applied to the Model by the Shaft Plate. Since in this problem the Model is symmetric, we will simulate only half of that in the Abaqus software. In fact, only the bottom damper will be simulated in the Abaqus software
In this picture, the hysteresis diagram having been obtained from the Abaqus software has been compared with the results gained from laboratory tests.
This project has been validated, which means that the results obtained from Abaqus software are similar to the results of the article. In other words, this project is based on the article
