Simulation incremental sheet forming (ISF) Abaqus
In this example , we simulate incremental sheet forming (ISF) in the abaqus software
The sheet is made of aluminium with a length 230 mm and width of 230 mm and thickness 1.5 mm
The coefficient of friction between the sheet and the tool is taken to be 0.15
The tool take a circular path in the X-Y plane and causes the sheet to be deformed
The die is modeled with three-dimensional analytical rigid surfaces and The plate is made of aluminum
The final shape of the sheet is a truncated cone and you can observe that in the picture
The most quantity of circle diameter is equal to 194 mm and the least quantity of circle diameter is equal to 106 mm
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) allows the manufacturing of complex products avoiding the use of rigid and dedicated clamping system, therefore process costs and times are reduced
