In this example, we intend to simulate the strip damper subjected to cyclic loading in the Abaqus software.

Cyclic Loading

In this problem, a cyclic loading is applied to the strip damper. The loading history is defined in Abaqus using the corresponding amplitude data.

The response of the strip damper is then obtained under the applied cyclic loading.

Hysteresis Diagram

After applying the cyclic loading, the hysteresis diagram of the model is obtained from the Abaqus results.

The hysteresis diagram is used to investigate the behavior of the strip damper under cyclic loading.

Comparison of Abaqus and Experimental Results

In this picture, the Normalized load-Displacement hysteresis diagram obtained from the Abaqus software is compared with the experimental results.
